Zdeněk Sýkora listened to swing and pop music with his parents from an early age. At the age of five, he received his first set. Percussion instruments immediately became a great love for life. At the age of fourteen, he joined his first band Cardinal in his hometown, Náměšť nad Oslavou. Another important band was the band Roxor and Matador from Třebíč.
After graduating from the Conservatory of Music in Brno, he left for a three-month experience abroad. Three months becomes 22 years with short breaks. He plays all over Europe, followed by a two-year engagement in the United States. At present, he has been working as a percussion instructor at KC Labuť in Říčany near Prague for several years, where he teaches his students.
